Case #2: Use case of an independent writer

A freelance writer manages multiple writing projects for various clients. They juggle content creation, delivery deadlines, and handling their administrative tasks.

Tool Usage:

Task Management via Kanban:

The writer uses the Kanban system to organize their tasks. Each project has a Kanban board with columns representing different stages of the writing process: "To Do," "In Progress," "In Review," "To Revise," "Completed." They move cards (tasks) between these columns to visualize progress status.

Time Planning via Gantt Chart:

To have a chronological view of their projects, the writer uses the Gantt chart. They input project deadlines, estimated durations for each stage, and task interdependencies. This way, they can better plan their work and identify moments where multiple projects might conflict in timing.

Concrete Use Case:

New Writing Project for Client A:

Step 1 (Kanban): The writer creates a card for the project in the "To Do" column of their Kanban board for Client A.

Step 2 (Gantt Chart): They add project details to the Gantt chart, including specific writing, revision, and delivery stages, while considering other scheduled projects.

Tracking and Progress: The writer moves the project card across different Kanban columns as it progresses through the writing process. They regularly refer to the Gantt chart to ensure they meet deadlines and adjust workload if needed.

Visualization and Management of Time Conflicts: Using the Gantt chart, the writer identifies two projects for the same client with close deadlines. This allows them to reprioritize or negotiate new deadlines with clients based on this information.
